Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton talked in depth with Chris Ryan just hours prior to the votes being counted in the 2016 New Hampshire Primary. The former Secretary of State expressed her appreciation for the way that the people of New Hampshire take their responsibility for probing and evaluating the people who want to be president of the United States. She feels that her campaigning in New Hampshire, which was an uphill struggle, made her a better candidate and will make her a better president. Clinton is proud of the effort and grateful for the support which she received.
Hillary Clinton acknowledges that many voters are frustrated and angry and want a fresh start. She believes that people are unhappy with a stagnant economy and political grid lock caused by ideological and partisan differences. She also feels that government itself needs to be streamlined and be more efficient. Clinton wants government to be more effective in providing needed services and to get out of the way of the entrepreneurial energy of the people in our communities.
Hillary Clinton laughed about her husband, former president Bill Clinton, introducing her at rallies as the most qualified candidate for president since George Washington. She feels that her job experience isn’t resonating with many voters because so many people are fed up with politics as usual and want to overturn the system. Clinton appreciates their feelings. However, she cautions that our political system is a slow and cumbersome process by design. For that reason, she feels that many candidates who are calling sweeping changes are “overpromising.”
For that reason, Hillary Clinton warns,
“Anger isn’t a plan, and venting isn’t a strategy.”
Regardless of the results of the New Hampshire Primary, Hillary Clinton still believes that her record of service and advocacy makes her the change maker that we need.
