Canterbury selectmen get involved with Northern Pass

The Concord Monitor reports that Canterbury selectmen have agreed to get involved with the Northern Pass transmission project.
Specifically, they’ve filed a motion to intervene in the Site Evaluation Committee’s review of the application for a 192-mile line, which proposes to transmit hydropower from Quebec to the New England electric grid.
The review will be conducted by the nine-member Sight Evaluation Committee and accepted intervenors. It will take place following the required public information sessions, the first of which will be held in Merrimack County at the Franklin Opera House this coming Monday at 6 p.m.
