Bill Clinton back in NH

Former president Bill Clinton made his debut appearance on behalf of his wife’s 2016 presidential campaign in Nashua on Monday – a bit trimmer and more subdued than nearly a quarter-century ago, when he placed second to Paul Tsongas in the 1992 first-in-the-nation primary.

While Clinton was keen to keep the focus on Hillary Clinton’s key campaign platforms, he is acutely aware of age-old GOP attacks re-emerging. Republican front-runner Donald Trump has gone on the offensive in recent days over his impeachment and personal conduct.
When asked about Donald Trump and the broader Republican field, he said “One of my many rules in politics is don’t look past the next election,” referring to the pending primary fight against popular Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Clinton argued that Hillary, the Democratic front-runner, offers the best plan to restore “broadly shared prosperity.”
The event is part of a strategy to boost Sectretary Clinton’s campaign in the run-up to early voting. The former president will make stops in Iowa on Thursday.
