CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Quick action by fire fighters saved a 150 year old home at 72 School Street early Friday morning. All on duty crews responded to a porch fire at the residence at 12:33 a.m. and arrived within five minutes to find heavy fire engulfing the porch and moving quickly to the second floor and attic. A second alarm was called at 12:41 a.m., bringing additional units from Allenstown, Bow, Chichester, Hooksett, and Pembroke. Off duty Concord fire fighters were also called back to duty. The fire spread to the attic area and crews worked quickly to contain it, bringing it under control shortly before 2:00 a.m. Both of the home’s occupants escaped without injury. The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the Concord Fire Marshal’s Office.
Concord’s stations were covered by units from Epsom, Hopkinton, Loudon, and the Penacook Rescue.
