WOW there are a lot of gambling commercials all over the place. The radio, television, internet……..we are all constantly being encouraged to wager. People have the right to decide for themselves whether or not they should gamble. Nobody is saying otherwise. But on this WKXL Spotlight, we discuss the other side of the story: What resources are available for people who have developed a gambling addiction? The New Hampshire Council on Problem Gambling is at the forefront of the battle against problem gambling in New Hampshire. Ed Talbot is Co-Director of NHCPG and he joins us today on WKXL Spotlight to discuss the real-world difficulties for people with hardcore gambling addictions. Ed shares his own personal story with us and talks about some of the successes and challenges that exist in trying to help people who are unable to quit gambling. The younger generation and the prevalent access to gambling should be a concern in our society but unfortunately it does now get discussed enough.
